Lena M. Turner, 89, entered into rest on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Baptist East Hospital. She was a retired cafeteria manager for the Jefferson County Board of Education. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon B. Turner; her foster parents, Bob and Lelia Goodman; her sisters, Eva Butler and Pauline Ramsey; and brothers, Emmett and Avery Gray.
She is survived by a son, Chuck E. Turner (Ann) ; a daughter, Janet M. Turner; a brother, Grover Goodman; a grandchild, Amy Clark (of Denver, CO); a great-grandchild, Shelby Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Her funeral service will be on Monday 1:30pm at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visiting will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2pm to 8pm and after 9am on Monday.
