Leo Norman Reidinger
May 30, 1937 – October 6, 2021
Leo Norman Reidinger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the age of 84.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Ackerman Reidinger and father, Leo Reidinger and his brother, Melvin Reidinger.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, Daughter Cindy Treager (Bruce), Son Gregory Reidinger (Nicole) and daughter Jill Cole (Matt). Also his grandchildren, which he adored and did anything for, Colin and Allie Treager, Justin and Jordan Reidinger, and Tyler, Tanner and Maddie Cole. His sisters, JoAnn Gettelfinger(Bob) and Delores Gettelfinger(Howard).
Leo was born on May 30, 1937 in New Albany, Indiana. He spent his youth working on the family farm. He went on to attend Bellarmine University through an athletic scholarship and obtained a degree in Chemistry. Leo later continued his education at the University of Louisville, obtaining a Master’s degree in Business in 1981. Besides his family, his accomplishments include a spot in the Bellarmine Hall of Fame for his amazing pitching abilities in baseball which he nurtured in his grandsons. Leo began working for Early Times Distillery in 1960 in the laboratory. He worked his way up to supervisor, plant manager and in 1990, Vice President. After forty-four years at Brown-Forman, Leo retired in 2004
After his retirement from BF, his love of golf led him to working at Golf Galaxy. He was an avid fan of both University of Louisville and Cincinnati Reds. He rarely ever missed a game and you could often finding him “cheering on” the Cardinals at home baseball games. Leo loved being surrounded by his family especially his grandchildren. He spent the last few years being a chauffeur to his youngest grandchildren which he loved. His hard work ethic, contagious smile along with his hugs will go unmatched. He will be forever missed by everyone who loved him.
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Rd. Louisville, KY 40205, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Funeral service will follow visitation, starting at 11:00 am. Mr. Reidinger will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Red Cross.
