Lillian was born on February 22, 1930 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to John & Emma Harvey and later moved to West Point, Kentucky which is where she grew up. Being the youngest of six siblings she was quite feisty and had no problem speaking her mind and sticking up for those she loved.
In 1948 she married the love of her life Roosevelt Price in which she spent fifty-one glorious years with. She had the pleasure of living in many places due to her husband’s army career including Germany which was the birthplace of her daughter, Fort Knox which was the birthplace of her son, Las Vegas and Louisville where her and her family spent the bulk of their lives. Lillian was a loving and loyal wife and mother and remained loyal to her husband even after his passing in 1999.
Lillian Played a fierce game of scrabble and loved snuggling up and letting a good romantic novel sweep her away. She also loved spending time with and talking to family and never turned down the opportunity to see a good flick at the movies. One of her favorite pastimes was enjoying walking through the park with her late husband which they did almost daily.
Much like her name Lillian was beautiful inside and out and leaves many to cherish her memory: her daughter Lynnette Criner (Greg), her son Richard Price (Paula), three grandsons, Salim, Damon and Darnell, two granddaughters, Alana and Hannah and one great-granddaughter, Harmony amongst many others that have had the pleasure of knowing Lillian.
Mrs. Price's funeral service will be held at noon on Monday in the chapel of Evergreen Funeral Home, located at 4623 Preston Highway. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm. Entombment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions in Mrs. Price's name be made to the Kentucky Humane Society, 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville, KY 40214-2961.
"You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.” -David Harkins
