Lola P. Cook, 102 of Louisville, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born June 7, 1924 to the late Alton and Carrie Hardison Parsons of Muhlenberg County, KY. Lola graduated from Hughes-Kirkpatrick High School. She married Richard Cook on October 9, 1948 and together they raised 2 children. She was a devout member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church.
In her early career, Lola worked at Evansville Indiana Shipyard doing secretarial work and then at Enro Shirt Company. She went on to work at CVS for 23 years before retiring at 79 years old.
Making quilts, bowling, playing golf, Scrabble, and Bridge were just a few of Lola’s favorite activities.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years: Richard Cook and her 8 siblings: Hammond T. Parsons, Rozella Parsons, Mabel Parsons, Orville Parsons, Harland Parsons, George Parsons, Carlysle Parsons, and Alton Parsons.
Left to cherish Lola’s memory are her children: Keith Cook and Kathy Blair; her grandchildren: Frankie Selby and Sadie Rockstroh; her great-grandchildren: DeAndre Fowlks, Desiree Rockstroh, Keith Selby, and Deja Selby; and many other relatives.
A service to honor Lola will be 2 PM Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218 with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-2 PM at the funeral home.
