Jimmy served in the United States Navy for 9 years before being medically discharged. He then entered the private sector where he became Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the JW Marriott Corporation, Southeast United States. Jimmy pursued many other business ventures including: 20 plus years in Saudi Arabia working in conjunction with Aramco Corporation, and later Al Tawil Food Services for Sheik Yousef Al Tawil. Upon retirement, Jimmy also became involved in residential development and construction and other business ventures. Jimmy was a wonderful husband and father, who adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Dr. William G. Webb, Elizabeth French, and Hugh Donald Webb; his son-in-law: Carl R. Cox.
Left to cherish Jimmy’s memory are his beloved wife of 72 years: Dorothy Webb; his children: Marian Cox, Dr. Martha C. Ruder, and Jimmy D. Webb, Jr. (Amy); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Dr. Reese Ruder (Dr. Sarika) and their children Juhi and Avnish, Dr. Ross Ruder (Sam), Kyle Tear (Gracie), Kevin Tear (Shelby) and their daughter Aurora plus one on the way, Kelsey Wilder (Garrett) and their children Brayden, Morgan, and Bennett, Elizabeth Webb, and Jimmy Dominick Webb III.
Visitation will be 12-2 PM Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218. Following visitation, a service to honor Jimmy will begin at 2 PM with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
