

Lynn Scott Richardson Houfek, beloved partner, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on September 9th 2025 at the age of 63. She lived a life filled with joy, curiosity, and a love for adventure.
Born and raised in Louisville Kentucky Lynn graduated from Sacred Heart Academy (1979) before continuing her education at Eastern Kentucky University (1983).
At the heart of her life was her greatest joy, her children. She loved nothing more than cheering them on, especially while watching them play sports. Her pride and devotion were boundless, and she delighted in every moment spent supporting, encouraging, and celebrating them.
A true enthusiast of life’s simple and grand pleasures, Lynn could often be found on the back porch with a good book in hand, traveling to new destinations, or enjoying good times on the Ohio river. The water was her happy place, where she found calm, laughter, and treasured time with family and friends. She had a passion for home renovations, always bringing creativity and warmth into the spaces she touched.
Her love for music carried her to countless concerts, where she sang along, danced, and collected memories that brought her endless happiness. Whether on a trip abroad or spending time with her friends Lynn lived with laughter as her constant companion. She had a gift for finding humor and joy in every season of life, and for sharing that joy with everyone she met.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents John A Richardson and June S Richardson, sister Myrrhanda Arkaen, niece Tiffany M. Owen, nephew Ethan A Whiting.
Lynn leaves behind partner David T. Warfel Jr. Children Taylor H. (Bradley) McClung, Nathan D. Houfek. grandchild Davis B. McClung. Siblings Jack W. (Pat) Richardson, Vickie R (Morris) Owen, Dale R. (Jeff) Botner. Nieces and Nephews Todd M Owen, Britney A Owen, Aaron C Owen, Ryan Arkaen, Elese Whiting, Erik Whiting, Evelyn Whiting, Sara Hall who will carry forward her spirit of joy compassion, determination , and most importantly kindness.
She will be remembered not only for her passions, but for the way she made others feel cherished, inspired, and loved.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday September 16th 11-3 at Arch L. Heady & Sons Funeral Home located at 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40222. With a service from 3-4 at the same place.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Turners immediately following from 4:30-9.
The family encourages friends to share stories, laughter, and memories—just as she would have wanted.
