Maggie Sue Constant

Maggie Sue Constant, age 89, passed away on May 11, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1936, to Jack and Zona Byrnes in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky. Sue, as she preferred to be called, was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all. She was a member of Carlisle Baptist Church and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Sue loved cooking and baking, her family remembers the most amazing Thanksgiving dinners, and blueberry and raspberry muffins and pies. She enjoyed gardening, tennis, watching her stories, and cheering on Louisville football and basketball. Sue took great pride in looking her best, with her hair, makeup, nails, and clothes perfectly styled. Above all else, she loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent with her son and grandchildren. She will be remembered for being incredibly sweet, encouraging, and welcoming to everyone she met. Sue will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her loving husband, Romie Constant; her brother, Charles; her sisters, Doris, Betty, Bobby, and Karen; her great-grandson, Sage; her grandson-in-law, Mike; and her beloved poodle, Holly.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary and his wife Pam; her granddaughter, Leslea and her husband Steve; her grandson, Chad; her great-granddaughter, Katie; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and cherished friends.

Sue will be entombed along with her husband at Evergreen Cemetery.
