Malcolm loved youth sports and giving back to his community. His kind heart, love for children, and his generosity inspired all who met him. He was a member of the Louisville Jaycees, and Treasurer of the Valley Booster Club. He was also a member of the KBUA Baseball Association and Vice President for the Senior Division of Valley Sports Little League. In addition, he served as a baseball umpire for little league and high school.
Malcolm’s love for music inspired him to open the Churchill Jamboree in 1967. His guest list featured country music legend Loretta Lynn, and his creative genius impersonation of the famous Cousin Mable was brought to life.
Malcolm worked for Silverman’s Department Store in Highland Park, where he met and eventually married the love of his life Anita Williams. After they married, Malcolm became a truck driver for City Delivery Service. After retirement he enjoyed working security at Walmart with American Security.
Malcolm was a follower of Christ and a member of Cornerstone Community Church, the Keystones Sr. group at Cornerstone, and was a devoted fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anita (Gallahue) Williams. Their love story brought forth three children, Pam, Dennis (Fonda), and Tony (Toni); six grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Tiffany (Kris), Angie (Mike), Camryn (Colton), Peyton, Taylor, and Collin; and seven great grandchildren, Drew, Zac, Madison, Riley, Preston, Mia, and Bella. He also leaves behind his treasured fur-daughter Abby. Malcolm had many nieces, nephews, and close friends, including his lifelong childhood best friend Kenneth Fowler. Malcolm is proceeded in death by his parents, and his five siblings, Chuck, James, Glenn, Herbert, and Margaret Rigdon.
The family is requesting In Lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville or Cornerstone Community Church.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-8 at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. His funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
