I had the privledge to meet MR. Record and his wife Mrs. Edna Record in 2006, I was their case manager for the Homecare Program.  I enjoyed listening to Mr. Record reminisce about his life experiences and found him to be rich in spirt and compassion.  I know he is at rest now and at home in heaven. It was with love we said good-bye, and saw you off to a better place.  I know you, and Mom, will be with me always, until I join you at the end of time.

Carra, I was away during the funeral,  but I didn't want to miss telling you what a sweet man your dad was and what an honor it was to know him and your mother.  They were caring people, and I thought the world of both of them.

I am now the only living child of my father, W.A. (Willie Amos) Record.  Dad married Carra Jane Perry in 1905. To this union was born a daughter, Elta and five sons: Earl, Bishop, Ivis, Marco, and Raymond.  All have now died.  Carra died in 1926 and in August of 1928 Dad married Martha Ozelle Taylor.  Two children were born of them: James David and Charlotte Ann.  My sister and my parents are dead, so I am now the sole survivor among my siblings and our parents.  
Dad volunteered to serve as an Army chaplain during World War II, but was rejected because of his age.  Bishop and Marco went into the Army.  Ivis continued to serve in the Navy and Raymond became a bomber pilot in both European and Pacific conflicts.  Each man served with recognized valor and returned home safely.
As I was growing up. Marco was living at home and was my special “big brother” and my pal, so to lose him is very meaningful to me personally.  Since our family has become so segmented, my desire is to share some light and warmth on how we are bound together.  Ivis and Marco dying so close together makes it even more sad for me, but my strength comes from the Lord and I pray that yours does also.  May God's grace and mercy be upon us and abide with us always.

Dad you will be sorely missed.  I didn't understand while growing up that everything you were trying to do was to make me a better person.  I will always keep you and mom in my heart.

Ann, George & I offer you our heart felt condolences in the loss of your father.

Dear family: My love for Marco was more like a love for one's father.  I felt that way every since my daddy (Earl Record) died.  My uncles were more to me than uncles.

Death is inevitable--but most want to live forever, although that the Bible teaches we can live for ever in paradise!


Isaiah 65:17 " for, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind."
