Margaret Elsie Bourne

She was born May 20, 1928 in Lee County, Kentucky; the daughter of the late William and Lucinda (Dunaway) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest T. Bourne, Jr.; one son, Edward Ernest Bourne; her dear sister Lucy, as well as nine other siblings.

Margaret was a member Clifton Baptist Church and a charter member of National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky.

Survivors include her children, David W. Bourne (Caren) and Denise Carnes (Mac); four grandchildren, John, James, David Jr. and Heather; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Margaret, Avery and Ben; a sister-in-law, Eva Sue Akins (Dick) and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of her caregivers over the years, especially most recently Delores Graham and Marsha Watson for all of the loving care they provided her.

Visitation will be held from 10-11am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Burial will follow the service at New Liberty Cemetery, New Liberty, KY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to KSB Charitable Foundation or Louisville East Lions Club.
