Margaret F. Janes

Margaret was the beloved daughter of the late Roy and Frances Buckman, and the loving wife of John "Jack" Janes, who preceded her in death. Through their loving union, she was blessed with three wonderful children who continue to carry her legacy: Sheila Payne (Alex), Barry Janes (Lori) and Jill Jones (Danny Ruckriegel). She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored - Trevor Jones, Matthew Palmer, Morgan Frederick, Shelby Pike, Cassidy Vance, Cole Janes, Caleb Payne, Molly Galloway and Emma Payne. And a GiGi to 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

A devout Catholic, Margaret was a proud founding member and devoted parishioner of Saint Athanasius Parish. She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful cooking, love of sewing and crocheting, her generous spirit, and her contagious laugh.

A visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 2-7PM. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at Saint Athanasius Catholic Church 5915 Outer Loop Louisville, Kentucky 40219 on Monday, October 20, 2025 @ 10AM. Margaret will be laid to rest next her husband Jack Janes in the cemetery of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
