Margaret “Bebe” Roederer died in her home on June 8th just shy of her 95th birthday. Born in 1920, the only child of Flora and Alfred Mueller, she grew up surrounded by her German heritage family of Schmidts and Muellers. She married Raymond Wesley Roederer in 1940 and they shared 50 years together until Ray’s death in 1991.
Bebe enjoyed life and was never happier than when surrounded by family and friends. She remained active, attending water exercise, participating in church and club activities, making her famous German potato salad, crocheting hats and scarves for the homeless, and entertaining her great grandchildren. She learned to use the computer in her 80’s and stayed in touch with many friends via email. She was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church until its closing and then joined Christ UMC.
Bebe leaves behind a legion of family and friends who will miss her. She is survived by her two sons, Doug (Melanie) in Lexington and Ken (Denice), grandsons Nick (Ashlea) and Adam (Amanda), and great grandchildren Grayson, Bella, Finley, Truett and another due this summer.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 4-8 and services at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Road on Friday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation prior to service at church from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
