Margaret R. Welke

Margaret Welke retired from General Electric and served as a pastor and evangelist. She was called to preach at age 21 and was a member of Dixie Valley Church of God. Margaret faithfully shared the Gospel. She loved playing the accordion and organ.

Margaret wanted everyone to know that the two greatest days of her life were the day her daughter was born and the day she met Jesus in Heaven.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Linda Maxwell; grandchildren, George Bryan Hood, Christy Lynn Warren, and Robert Shane Hood; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; godson, Mike (Wanda) Gaddis; goddaughter, Donna (John) Sexton; brothers Eddie, Jerry, and Mike Price; sister Barbara and many extended family members and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, precious great-grandson; and her beloved friend, Lorena Gaddis.

A visitation for Margaret will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville Kentucky on Friday October 30, 2026, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with a funeral service in the same location on the same day beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
