Marjorie Jean Franklin, 91, of Louisville was born on November 14, 1925 to the late Emmett and Thyra Hudson Paris, passed from this life on November 24, 2016. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Southside Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was active in the Women’s Ministry; she was a retired bookkeeper for the Jefferson County Public Schools, and a member of the National Honor Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Franklin. Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Judy Elkins (John); a son, Dr. Mark Franklin (Tricia); a sister Dot Snyder; grandchildren, Jennifer Matthiessen, Justin Elkins, Edison, Alden, and John Tice Franklin; great grandchildren, Owen Matthiessen, Olivia Elkins, Lily Matthiessen, and Harper Elkins. A service to celebrate Mrs. Franklin’s life will be held at noon Tuesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday and after 10 am Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to the Pathfinders program at her church.
