Martin B. Stivers, 86, of Louisville was born on May 24, 1934 and passed away on Friday January 15, 2021. Mr. Stivers was the former owner of Stivers Heating and Air, a member of Prairie Village United Methodist Church, the Male High 50 Year Club, and was an avid fisherman who helped for years with the Jefferson County Board of Education teaching kids how to fish, repairing rods and reels and donating many fishing poles to children of all ages. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Essie (Spencer) Stivers, and a sister, Reba Stead. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, the former Marian Patricia (Doll); children, Ben Stivers (Wendy); Sherilee (Stivers) Hopper (Chris), Kathleen (Stivers) Roell, Rick Stivers (Patty), Tammy (Stivers) Simon (Todd), Jeff Ater (Linda), Julie (Ater) Stratman, Joe Ater (Lee Anne), and Jill (Ater Louderback) Baker (Gary); grandchildren, Chris, Brian, Josh, Nicki, Joseph, Contessa, James, Ashley, Michael, Heather, William, Kathryn, Stephanie, Brent, Paige, Alyssa, Justin, Josh, Tim, Matthew and Lauren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services for Mr. Stivers will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Prairie Village United Methodist Church, 10015 Stonestreet Road. Visitation will be from 9 am to service time at 11. Cremation will follow the service. A limit of 60 people with social distancing and facemask are required. Memorial gifts may be made to his church.
