Marvin was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Fields; children, Joyce Slaten (John), Randall Fields (Sandra), Dennis Fields (Ronda), Yvonne Goodwin and Darrell Fields; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy., with interment to follow in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation to the public will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
