Marvin was born on March 5, 1938 to Starless Minor and Vivian Marie Meyerhoffer in North Carolina. At the age of 17, Marvin left on foot to join the U.S. Army and ended up stationed at Fort Knox, KY where he met his wife, Angela. He served during the Korean War. Following his military career, he married his bride on May 24, 1963 and went on to have 2 children, Frederick and Janet. Marvin was a force of nature, a man of many words and adventures. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, especially his grandchildren. Marvin was also a passionate historian, an artist, a photographer, and had many other talents. His hobbies included collecting old radios, vintage movies, military memorabilia and could often be found working in his yard planting beautiful flowers; tulips his favorite. Marvin was predeceased by his parents, brother, Randy Meyerhoffer and brother, Ray Meyerhoffer Sr. He is survived by his wife, Mary Angela Meyerhoffer, his two children, James Frederick Meyerhoffer (Holly) and Janet Marie Bordenet (Timothy). Ten grandchildren, Erik Meyerhoffer (Megan), Samantha Meredith (David), Daniel Meyerhoffer (Valerie), Sean Meyerhoffer, Cameron Meyerhoffer, Shelby Meyerhoffer, Scott Mills, Aaron Mills (Abby), Sabrina Mills and Ireland McCreary. Seven great grandchildren, Peema June, Vada, Phoebe, Otto, Jase, Maven, and Bear. Marvin is also survived by nine siblings, Jerry, Kenny, Larry, Dale, Marlin Meyerhoffer, Carolyn Taylor, Danielle Church, Darlene Niten and Lisa Meyerhoffer, all of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. The family requests that any donations go to The American Diabetes Association in honor of their loved one.
