Mary King Applegate, 90, of Louisville formerly of Hartford, Kentucky passed away August 27, 2014. She was born on May 5, 1924 to the late C.C. King and Ella Mitchell King. Mary was a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College. She was a dedicated and loyal member to St. Mark United Methodist Church. Her strong faith and family were the most important things to her.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Applegate; a grandson, Wesley A. Powell; two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated daughters, Annette Powell and Jenny Fasteen-Wood (Mike); two grandsons whom she adored and was so proud of, Christopher Fasteen (Morgan) and Travis Fasteen; and a great granddaughter, Reese Elizabeth Powell (and her mother, Julie).
A celebration of her life will be conducted Tuesday September 2, 2014 at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Monday and from 10-12 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
