She was born on November 15, 1944. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bell Sr.; her son, Jerry Bell, Jr.; her daughter, Christy Bell; and her brother, Leon Lawrence Bristoe.
She is survived by her sister, Elaine Viers: her brother, Tony Bristoe; along with extended family and friends.
Fiercely independent and strong-willed throughout her life, Mary faced her final illness with the same quiet determination and self-reliance that defined her. She had a warm, vibrant personality that could light up any room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew her.
The family will celebrate her life at a time not currently scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to hospice care or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
