

Mary Louise Brock, 92, of Louisville, passed away after a brief illness on September 7, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East. She was the former Mary Lou Crawley and a member of Hurstbourne Baptist Church. She loved traveling with her family, Disney World being one of her favorites, as well as Colonial Williamsburg; gardening, cooking and playing the piano and any type of musical program. She taught for JCPS at James Russell Lowell Elementary School her entire teaching career and then worked weekends at the Locust Grove as director. She loved to dine out and her favortie phrase was from an old Denmark sign; "take all you want but eat all you take". Being a member of Hurstbourne Baptist she loved to watch the Upward Games and sit on the first row to watch the first and second graders play.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Carl Brock.
Cherishing her memory is her son, Robert Bruce Brock and her church family and friends.
Mary Lou's Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12:30 till service time at the funeral home.
A very special "Thanks" to Helping Hands and the Jefferson Manor staff for all of their love and care provided to Mary Lou during her stay with them.
