She was predeceased by her, husband Walter Van Cleave, and her parents, Herman and Marion Gelthaus.
Mary graduated from Atherton High School in Louisville. As a mother, a role she enjoyed and cherished, she could be found enjoying time with her children, PTAs and Girl Scout activities. She enjoyed gardening and had a variety of roses in her yard.
Mary is survived by her children, Michael, Joan, Marilyn, Ruth, and Walter (Tina); 11 grandchildren and 21+ great-grandchildren and growing;
and her sister, June Gelthaus.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
Family and friends are welcome to visit from 10 am until time of service at 2 pm at the funeral home.
