Mary Frances McAlister

Mary Frances McAlister, age 92, passed away on February 14, 2026. She was born on October 17, 1933, to O.R. Mosley and Jewell Erwin Mosley in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of Highview Baptist Church. Mary dedicated her life to teaching. For over 30 years, she taught at Southern High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Mary was an avid reader, spending time during her life as a librarian. She loved gardening, travelling, and spending time playing dominoes with her domino group. Mary will be remembered as a sweet person and a pleasure to be around, someone who never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin McAlister; her son, Brent McAlister; her twin boys who passed as infants; her sister, Martha Sullivan; and her brother, Richard Mosley.

Left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, who will miss her terribly.

A visitation for Mary will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM.

She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hosparus of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
