Mary Ann Kaufman, 80, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. Born on April 26, 1946, Mary Ann lived a life centered on her unwavering faith in God and her deep love for her family. Her kindness, generosity, and servant's heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every season with grace, strength, and hope. She faithfully lived out her beliefs by offering encouragement, putting family first, and caring for others (furry and four legged friends included).
Mary Ann earned her nursing degree and dedicated her life to helping others. She was a gifted painter, musician, and found peace tending to her garden. She was also an avid baseball fan cheering for the Cubs, a football fan especially loyal to the Green Bay Packers, and proudly supported the University of Louisville even though she was a Univeristy of Kentucky alumnus.
Her greatest joy was her family. She shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Herman Kaufman, and treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love will be deeply missed.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Kaufman; her children, Steve and Angie; her siblings, Cora, Sharon, Joe, and Billy; and many cherished family members and friends.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Kimberly); her daughter, Janet; her brother, Tommy; her grandchildren, Jody (Joni), Matt, Travis (Jen), Amanda, Andrew, Roman, and Molly; numerous great-grandchildren; and many loving family members and dear friends.
While her family grieves her loss, they rejoice in knowing that Mary Ann is now home with her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a service starting at 2:00 PM.
