Mary Louise Layman, 83, of Louisville, passed away on December 27, 2013. She was born on February 8, 1930 in Jefferson County. She was married to Felix A. Layman on June 1, 1951 in Louisville. She was predeceased by her husband, Felix, on October 3, 1995, as well as her parents, Eva Morehead Cawthon and Ernest Parris. She is survived by her four children: Felicia Layman and Cheryl Layman (Bert C. Burke, Jr.) of Louisville, Allen Layman of Shepherdsville, and Vicki Layman (Gordon L. Head) of Santa Barbara, CA; and her grandchildren: Matthew Burke, Morgan Burke, Marissa Layman, Caitlin Jasper, and Taulbe Jasper. Her favorite pastimes were playing bingo, working in her yard, and spoiling her dog. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 5-8pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway. Funeral service will be 12pm Friday, January 3, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
