MURPHY, MARY LEONA (SMITH), 79, of Louisville, passed away December 15, 2009 in Nashville, TN. She was retired from AT&T/Bell South for 37 years, a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and of the Telephone Pioneers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loretta M. and William F. Smith; sisters, Dorothy M. Smith and Mary Rita Smith Jolly; and brother, William A. Smith. She is survived by her son, Wayne D. Murphy and daughter in law, Martha Stralko Murphy, of Nashville, TN; grandsons, David R. Murphy, of Nashville and Eric M. Murphy, of Greenville, SC. A celebration of her life will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3509 Taylor Blvd., with the burial to follow in St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society , American Life League or Alive Hospice of Nashville, TN.
