Mary S. Pettegrew, age 95, of Louisville passed away peacefully on November 30. She had been a resident of Village Crossing Retirement Community, after 40 years living in Prospect, KY. Mary L. Spidell was a native of Milwaukee, WI and a graduate of Downer College there. She married Fred C. “Buzz” Pettegrew of Wauwatosa, WI in 1952, and then raised three children together, initially in Appleton, WI, where Mary was also very active in community organizations. Mary loved holidays with family, bowling & conversation with friends old and new; she also had a sharp wit and a great love of word humor. She is survived by her children Jim Pettegrew of Placitas, New Mexico (Gina Ferrigno), Jane Stewart (Dr. Robert) of Prospect, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband and her son John Pettegrew of Bethlehem, PA preceded her in passing. Memorial services will be private.
