Mary E. Powers, 92 of Louisville, passed away July 9, 2026. She was born January 10, 1934, to the late Thomas Joseph and Elsie Frederick Springer Key of Louisville, KY. Mary came from a long line of fisherman and was an avid fisher herself. Her favorite fishing spot was at Jericho Lake. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and had a strong faith. Mary loved to play bingo and going to card parties.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years: Charles Lee Powers; her son: Donald Floyd Powers; her daughter-in-law: Susie Powers; and her brother: John Joseph Powers.
Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children: Thomas Joseph Powers, Bobby Dean Powers (Mirta), Charles Owen Powers, Bruce Wayne Powers (Tammi), and Deborah Maria Powers; her foster children: Billy Hilbert and Ava Jones; 7 grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12-8 PM Monday, July 20, 2026, at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218. A service to honor Mary will be 10 AM Tuesday, July 21 at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest privately at Resthaven Memorial Park.
