Mary “Marlene” Sauer, 79, of Louisville went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 8, 2013 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born on April 9, 1934 in Louisville to the late Gottfred and Clara Rose Long Grether. Marlene was a 1953 graduate of Mercy Academy and was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Sauer; a sister, Rita Grether; and a brother, Tony Grether.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Sauer; two sons, Tim Sauer (Michele) and Michael Sauer (Sherri); grandchildren, Timothy, Andrew, Madeline, Sarah and Aaron Sauer; and one sister, Margo Grether.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary, 1020 East Burnett Avenue with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Wednesday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
