Mary Diane Shields, 65, of Louisville, passed away at her home on the evening of June 13, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the former Diane Metcalf and a member of Ninth & O Baptist Church. Diane had worked for Drs. Hilgeford-Morgan and Haney as a referral coordinator, and had a great love for visiting New Orleans. She was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Shields, and her father, Grant Metcalf.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Suggs (Barry); mother, Joyce Metcalf; granddaughter, Rose Marie Major and siblings, Sandra Whitlock (Larry), Grant Metcalf (Donna), James Metcalf (Sharon) and Donald Metcalf (Darlene).
A private inurnment was held in Resthaven Memorial Park on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Arrangements were entrusted to Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.
