She was retired from the old Bacons Department Store in Shively, starting as Christmas help, and staying for over 30 years. Mrs. Wood was also a member of the Shively Heights Baptist Church and formerly attended Carlisle Avenue Baptist.
She was preceded in rest by her husband, Dossie Wood, Sr.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her sons, Dr. D. Morris Wood, Jr. (Maria) and Don Wood, PharmD (Mary); a daughter, Lesa Wagner; seven grandchildren, Naaman Wood, Jeremy Wood, Erin Wood, Emily Bruenderman, Keith Wood, MD, Crista Wagner and Kim Wagner; and a great-granddaughter, Harper Wood.
Her funeral will be on Monday, July 18, at 10 am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 pm until 5pm.
