  I know many of you already know this but Matt had a great soul!  Always willing to help someone in need.  Always there with a joke to cheer you up when you were having a tough day.  Always willing to share whatever he had.  I know the boys we worked with at Camp thought he was the best chief and counselor because of how he was able to relate to them and inspire them to try different activities they were afraid of trying.  Seeing their smiles and confidence grow after completing a difficult activity was a gift Matt gave to them.  I know many of those boys have grown into successful men with wonderful families, great jobs, and have given back to the community in many different ways.

Uncle Matt (aka My Godfather) was a gem. I have many great memories fishing with Matt. I will never forget riding back to Louisville from KY lake (~4 hour car ride) when I was about 8 years old (~1980). I used the entire ride back to grill Matt on every fish he ever caught - I was looking for details. He hung in there. He could of easily left me at one of the rest stops/gas stations on the way back. That is who Matt was - kind, generous and patient.

Matt was a wonderful friend to Joe and me.  He was such a caring, funny and positive person, always making everyone else feel happy to spend time with him.  My children grew up thinking of him as Uncle Matt and he was a fabulous role model.  Father Ron Knott's column in The Record last week was titled Leaving a Legacy and so much of it described the type of person Matt was.  One line stood out to me, from an old prayer "Learning Christ" ,  "May no one be less good for having come within my influence".  We were all better for the blessing of knowing Matt and will miss him so much.

We will miss Matt very much. In his memory a donation has been made to the Animal Care Society, a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.

You could not ask for a better neighbor than Matt. He was so friendly, kindhearted, upbeat and always made me laugh.   One of my fondest memories of Matt will always be when he used to 'sprint' up and down the sidewalk with his little puppy.   A very tiny dog, pulling this very tall man down the sidewalk.  I'm not sure who was having more fun, the dog, Matt or me watching.

Lighting a candle for you and all of your loved ones, Matt. Peace, love and comfort for you all.

I worked with Jennifer and had the pleasure of meeting Matt when he did some painting for our family. We remember him so fondly. He was such a sweet, funny, thoughtful, meticulous man. If he could make such an impression on my husband and me in such a short time, I could just imagine the joy he brought to his family and friends everyday!

I worked with Matt many years ago at Kinetic. He was always smiling and had a very positive attitude toward life. Condolences to his family and friends. I will keep you in my prayers.

Matt - A dear friend who I will miss greatly. Matt was always a positive, caring person - quick with a joke or a story to make everyone smile. Everyone loved to be around Matt. I love you like a brother.

I remember you s my babysitter, Matt. One of the coolest ones I ever had!  Introduced me to Dr. Pepper and sour cream & onion potato chips.  I will always remember your smile and your good naturedness.  May the same peace you are now filled with come to all of those who love you.  Comfort and love to everyone.

I'm reminded of all the things that Matt taught me.  Hanging wallpaper, how to use a belt sander, finishing a table edge, and of course all the many uses of gorilla glue.  I'm not very good at any of them, except the gorilla glue.  Thank you Matt, for taking the time and having the patience to help me with so many projects.  You will be deeply missed and l loved being your sister in law.
