Matthew Ray Whitworth, age 33, was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 29, 1987. As a little boy, he was happy and joyful with a whole lot of energy. As he grew, Matt put that joy and energy into sports. From wrestling at home with his brothers to playing football and baseball at Valley High School, Matt excelled at sports. As much as he enjoyed sports, Matt loved people even more. He had a kind heart and generous nature and made friends with anyone he met. He enjoyed reading, learning and sharing philosophical discussions. He always spoke respectfully of his family and reverentially of his Mom. Matt, your spirit of kindness, your heart of compassion and your generous smile will be missed.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Lisa Gamble, and his father, Danny Gamble. He is survived by his brothers, Daniel, Brandon, and Matthew Gamble and by his sister, Hillary Gamble, whom he adored. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Anne Roby, whom he loved dearly.
One of Matt’s favorite Bible verses reminds us that nothing shall separate us from Christ.
