Maudine was born on September 8, 1936, in Cullman County, Alabama, to Myrtie and Odes Echols. She dedicated 26 years of her life working at Philip Morris and was a devoted member of Southeast Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Myrtie and Odes Echols; sisters, Leeviece Cagle, Wanda Harbison, and Sarah Dean Stell; and brothers, Curtis and Tommy Echols.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children and their spouses: Judy (Mike) Flatt, Steve (Kim) Stevens, and Jay (Tammie) Stevens. She is also survived by her dear sister, Connie Sanderson; grandchildren: Shannon (Eloy) Garrido, Jeff (Wendy) Stevens, Brittney (Travis) Mobley, Chris Stevens, and Kenzie (Matt) Turk; as well as six great-grandchildren and three precious great-great-granddaughters.
Maudine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—lovingly known as “Nanny,” “Gran,” and “Mam-Maw.” She will be remembered for the deep love and warmth she shared with all who knew her.
The Stevens family extends heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Maudine in her later months. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
