Mercedes Whitaker Fuller Stapleton, 95 of Crescent Hill, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her home. She was born April 18, 1915 in Stanton, KY to the late, Eben Hunter and Ermine Whitaker Fuller. She was a long time member of Crescent Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded by her parents, her brother; Thomas Carson Fuller, and her husband; Hershal Lowery Stapleton.
She is survived by her daughter; Heidi Simpson, her grandson; David Carson Hambaugh, and her caregiver; Patty Randolph, who lovingly cared for her.
A service to celebrate the life of Mercedes will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, with private interment at the Riverview Cemetery in Morgantown, KY. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Expressions are requested to her church memorial fund.
