

Kappesser, Michael Ann, 80, entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2015. She was a long time standing member of St. James United Church of Christ, founding mother of Applepatch Community, former Bell Award winner for volunteerism, and an advocate for Area 4 Special Olympics. Michael loved to play cards with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Arthur E. Kappesser Jr.; mother, Sarah Thomas; brother-in-law, Kenny Kappesser; in laws, Arthur E. Kappesser Sr. and Helena; and friend of 50 years, Carol Gosling.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rawley, Richard, and Roger; sister-in-law, Nina Kappesser; three nieces, Nancy Fleker, Cindy Davis, and Sally Kappesser; nephew, Ronnie Kappesser; Jamie Kappesser; and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday at St. James United Church of Christ, 3535 Taylor Blvd, at 1:30pm. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am-8:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home and at the church from 12:30pm until the time of service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to Applepatch Community.
