Michael John McCormick, 65, of Louisville, passed away with family by his side on the evening of July 14, 2015 at the Robley Rex Veterans Medical Center. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and a former police officer with the Prospect Police Department. Michael was a Navy veteran and a family man, known to all as "Pop".
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, Frances Harris McCormick; children, Michelle Nielsen (Doug), Angela Medley (Eddie) and Michael McCormick; eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his brother, Steve (Marilyn) McCormick; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive him.
A Life Celebration will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and after 10 am on Monday at the funeral home.
