Michael E. Swiryd

Michael E. Swiryd, age 70, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at UofL Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born on October 26, 1955, in Cicero, IL, to Michal and Frances Swiryd. Adventurous, humorous, and kind-hearted, Michael will be remembered for the steady presence he brought to those who knew and loved him.

He was a graduate of Morton East High School. After high school, he moved to Louisville to attend IUE Trade School.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Swiryd.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lisa Swiryd; daughter, Jennifer Swiryd-Jones; son, Michael E. Swiryd; grandchildren, Daniel, Dylan, Nick, Jada, Damien, Gage; great-grandchildren, Ella and Roman; siblings, Sandy, Anna, Christina, Bridgette; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass to celebrate Michael will be 11AM, Monday, March 16, 2026 at St. John Paul II Parish, 3539 Goldsmith Lane Louisville, KY 40220. Entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road.

Visitation will be 12-4PM, Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
