Mick was born in Clarksville, TN in 1949. He moved to Louisville in 1968 and married Cheryl Siegel a year later. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and PaPa. He put family above all others and was known for his work ethic, wit and making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Darnell.
Mick is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl (Siegel); two devoted daughters Andrea (Bert) Becker and Dana (Kevin) McGill; four grandchildren, Hannah, Beau, Landon and Grace. He is also survived by his father, Buford R. Darnell and two sisters, Jerri Halliday and her husband Gene Forehand and Cammy (Henry) Rittenberry.

A funeral service to celebrate Mick’s life will be conducted Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10 am in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12-8 pm Friday, January 10, 2014 and after 9am the day of the service.
