Mildred "Millie" Darlene Farris

Millie was born on December 20, 1941, in Louisville, KY. The daughter of the late Roscoe and Mamie Brewer, Millie was a beacon of joy throughout her life, bringing laughter and warmth to everyone around her.

A devoted mother, Millie's world revolved around her sons, Gary (Peggy), Samuel (Jenn), and Tommy Jones. Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren, Nick (Pamela) Graham, Lindsey, Eden, and Tom Tom Jones, Joshua and Jacob Jewell, and to her adored great-granddaughters, Nova and Ava Graham. Though she lost her beloved nephew, Ty Levy, Millie's resilient spirit continued in her everyday interactions and enduring relationships with her sister, Kathy (Bob) Shellhamer, and niece, Heather Bartley.

At her core, Millie was the epitome of joy and affection. She never missed a chance to turn any gathering into an unforgettable celebration. She was often found at the heart of the party, with a natural ability to draw smiles and laughter from those around her. Millie had a way of making sure everyone in her presence was safe, happy, and enjoying life’s moments.

Millie's interests were as broad as they were captivating. She was blessed with an adventurous spirit that delighted in the simple pleasures of life—spending time on the river, indulging her love for animals, and virtually exploring African watering holes. The digital world provided her with a canvas to connect with dear friends, such as Pat from "across the pond" and Angie, keeping her world wide and full of friendship.

Millie's unmistakable love, kindness, and spirited character will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy is one of joy, laughter, and love—a legacy that will continue to be celebrated by her family and all who were touched by her extraordinary spirit.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm, at the Arch L. Heady - Cralle funeral home, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Millie's honor, to Alley Cat Advocates, 3524 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40218.
