Matthews, Mildred “Millie”, 92, of South Louisville joined her husband Hamie in heaven on Wednesday March 20, 2014. A native of Danville, KY., she was the former Mildred Fischer, a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a member and volunteer for Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Auxiliary for 63 years, and a volunteer for Saintly Treasures. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hamie, sisters and brothers in-law, Dorothy and Joe Scheurich, Bea and Casey Jones. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Bob & Gloria, Dick & Margaret, and Dave & Della Scheurich, Peggy & Rick Adcock, Roger (Candy), Bob & Marc Jones; 13 great, 33 great great and 12 great great great nieces and nephews; and her loyal poodle, “Mitzi”. A mass of celebration for Millie will be held at 10 am Monday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3509 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Sunday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial gifts may be made to Mass of the Air or Saintly Treasures c/o Sts. Mary & Elizabeth.
