Mildred “Millie” (Powers) Shown Salgren, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2017. She was 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Garrison Powers, her father Oren D. Powers, her sisters Helen Powers Raymer and Betty Powers Mottilla, her first husband and father of her children, Thomas T. Shown, Sr., and her second husband Woodrow Keil Salgren. She leaves behind one daughter, Anita Shown Jackson (Clyde), sons Thomas T. Shown, Jr. and Herbert D. Shown (Helen); grandchildren April Shown, Holli Shown Pawley, Heidi Shown Painter, Emily R. Shown; and Brandon T. Shown; step-grandchildren Dianah Leigh Jackson; Erich Ryan Jackson, Michael Craig Jackson, and M. Shawn Kelly; and a precious foster son and his family J. David Evans and his wife Cathy and their daughter, Lisa. She also leaves 10 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mrs. Salgren’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Private burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to the KY Humane Society.
