We were heartbroken to hear of Monaei's passing.  She was a kind and generous soul.  I'll never forget how she welcomed our family into her home shortly following Bill's mother's death. Our deepest condolences to Rusty and his family, and to Ray and his family.

Dear Rusty, Bain, Melinda, Sandy: I loved your dear Monaei for many years.  We became friends at Atherton MANY years ago. She brought laughter and joy and fun to every  occasion - whether Church, Womans Club, or just being the good friend she was to us all. She truly lived the Christian life.  She will be missed.  My life is enriched for having been a part of hers.

Very sad to see Monaei has passed.. we had several fun cross sales and I always enjoyed her so much! Peace to the family and praises for a life lived well.. Sincerely,

The world has lost an original!  Monaei was such a loving and caring person.  We met years ago in our childhood at Crescent Hill Methodist Church, middle school years at Barrett, and then onto Atherton High School.  Louisville will not be the same without her.  My thoughts and prayers are with her whole family.

We loved Monaei and will miss her everyday of the rest of our lives........she is a true angel on earth as in heaven.

Monaei was a friend and fellow-realtor of mine at Semonin realtors.  She was the embodiment of Kindness to everyone she met.  We will all remember her -- she was truly a friend to all who knew her.

I met Monaei in Sunday School about 50 years ago.  I moved from Louisville a few years later, but we always maintained our friendship.  I will miss her so much.  Rusty & family, I am sorry for your loss.  You know how much she loved you all.

Monaei and my mother (Volindah Costabell) were great friends for decades.  I loved Monaei dearly.  She was wonderfully warm and maternal, dispensing enveloping hugs that soothed the soul.  Monaei was just so easy to talk with, despite our being decades apart in age.  She wore her big heart on her sleeve, and was one of the most loving and genuine people I have ever met.  ... and I shall always remember those beautiful huge green eyes.

Rusty, my heart goes out to you.  When I visited your mom at Christmas, she talked about you.  She was so proud, and loved you to the ends of the earth.

What fun times we had from Barret Jr High on.  Those were the days my friend.  We merged from Emmet Field and Clark grade schools. Had great times in IBETWAGOS! (How many people know what that Is?)
Then Atherton, U of L. Then marriages, having Rusty and Tommy in same year, their sometimes hard childhood, their marriages and grandchildren .
All the time WE were GETTIN older.
You had SO many health issues and managed to bounce back from all.  I told you I didn't know how you did it. Amazing spirit.

Sandy (Sandra!!!!), Linda ... Our gatherings won't be the same without Monaei but boy do we have a billion wonderful memories of those that we had with her.  The Mason/Shields family couldn't love the Fruits Girls more if we tried.  I am sorry I cannot be with you this weekend but will see you very soon.  Love to one and all.
