Naida Soto

Naida was born on April 26, 1946 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico to Rafael and Ramona Rodriguez. She later moved to Brooklyn, New York with her family at the age of 3 months. At the age of 16, she worked as a Seamstress and developed a passion and talent for sewing. While living in Brooklyn, NY, she met the love of her life, Jose L. Soto and they married on November 13, 1965. After several years of marriage, they moved to Long Island, New York, where she worked as a Translator for the Hispanic Counseling Center. Naida also worked many years as a School Bus Driver in Freeport, New York. In 1991, Naida moved with her family to Fairdale, Kentucky, where she worked as a Translator for Caritas (now Concentra), translating for patients during their immigration physicals.

Naida was a wonderful mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister-in-law, and aunt who was always there for her family whenever they needed her. She never met a stranger and had many friends whom she often considered part of her extended family. She loved unconditionally with all of her heart and was so giving to everyone she knew. Naida was a fantastic cook and she loved to cook for family and friends. She believed with all her heart that a good meal along with good conversation was the glue that bonded family and friends forever.

Naida was preceded in death by her parents Rafael Rodriguez and Ramona Perez Rodrigues; her beloved husband Jose L. Soto; her sister Zenaida (Sonia) Rodrigues; her brothers Miguel Rodriguez, Rafael Rodriguez, and Jossie (Joe) Rodriguez.

Naida is survived by her daughter Michelle Sosna (Steve); her sons Anthony Soto (Dawn), Jose L. Soto Jr. (Cherie), and Daniel Soto; her grandchildren Samuel, Emily, Maya, Lola, Matthew, Gabriella, Marc, Isabella, Savannah, Sterling, Meredith, Ana-Kate, and Daniel; her great-grandson Sebastian.

To state that our Mom, Naida, is going to be missed is a massive understatement, however, her love, kindness, generosity, and so many wonderful memories with live-forever in our hearts

A visitation for Naida will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will be held the next day on Saturday August 13, 2022 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven at 11 AM.
