Nancy was born on July 24, 1939 in Louisville, KY to the late George Watson Wainwright and Doris Dixon Wainwright. Her husband, Douglas T. Harris, Sr., also precedes her in death.
She grew up in the West End of Louisville and was a proud graduate of Shawnee High School, class of “57”. Nancy was active in her church and was known as “Miss Nancy” to the many children she mentored through the years. She loved to travel and her travels took her to all 51 US States, across Canada, the Yukon, Europe, British Isles and South America.
Nancy retired from MetLife, and volunteered for SEAM. She was a proud Kentucky Colonel and was a member of Buechel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Wainwright (Patricia); stepchildren, Doug Harris, Jr. and Lynda Harris; and many loving cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
Nancy will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.
