Nancy Barnard Hastings

She was born May 16, 1945 in Lorain, OH, She was one of eleven children born to George and Rita (McDermott) Barnard.

After marriage, while raising her family, she moved to Louisville where she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. After raising her family in Louisville, she moved to Charlotte, NC, where she worked with Associated Marketing, and was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.

In recent years, Nancy returned to Louisville, and enjoyed being together with family. Her greatest joy was her family.

Nancy was a loving mother to Lisa Hastings and Matthew Hastings; and “Grandmama” to Hannah Hastings. Other survivors include four brothers, Bob, Don, Tom and David; and three sisters, Peggy, Katie and Betty. Nancy was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Barnard; sisters, Patricia Muliett and Rita Lesesky, niece Deana Saraney, brother in-law Ronald Redder, sister in-law Gayle Barnard and the father of her children Lawrence Hastings.

Visitation will be held on January 28, 2017, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 496 East Washington St., Chagrin Falls, OH at 10am followed by a mass at 11am.

A celebration of life will be held on February 4, 2017 at Hurstbourne Ridge Condominium clubhouse, 3623 Hurstbourne Ridge Blvd, Louisville, KY from 2-5pm.

In lieu of customary expressions, donations may be given to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Hosparus, or a charity of your choice.
