Siblings Carolyn Cox (Norwood), Larry Farmer (Sandy), Linda Farmer, Glenn Farmer (Sandy), and Paul Farmer (Laura). Also left to celebrate Nancy are numerous nieces, nephews, and friends she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her biological children, Bruce Whyte, and her son in law, Chad King.
Nancy was born November 29th, 1956 to McElroy and Mary Theresa Farmer in Louisville. Being a sibling in a large family of 6 children, her light shined bright through her love and care with her siblings. Nancy shared a love of butterflies with her mother and a love of golf with her father. As a graduate of Mercy Academy, Nancy would start in the pharmacy at Our Lady of Peace and advance in her career to be the best executive assistant anyone could hope for. She cultivated many relationships through her work that extended outside of the office.
Nancy loved camping, watching football (she loved her UofL Cardinals), traveling, game nights with friends, and so much more. From beaches to mountains, Nancy, her family, and friends enjoyed so many fun times together traveling and making memories.
Nancy was a fun, strong, generous, kind, and loving woman. Nancy's strength could not be overlooked, especially throughout her fight with pancreatic cancer. She bravely fought over the last years, wearing the armor of a loving family and friends, alongside her wonderful team at UofL Brown Cancer.
She loved dogs and had several through the years, but her bond with Mac was something to be treasured. His protection of her was undeniable, especially in her final weeks at home.
Nancy’s favorite role was being a Nana to her 10 grandchildren, she would do anything for her grandkids. She loved watching them do what they loved, from various sports to acting. Most of all, she cherished the moments she got to spend watching them grow into the people that they are meant to be. She cherished all the times she got to play, read, craft, swim, and just to be with each one of her grandbabies.
Her beautiful smile, warm embrace, strength and loving demeanor will be missed terribly every day but will live on vividly in our memories.
Her visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Preston Highway from 2 - 8 pm on Thursday February 5th. A memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Gilda’s Club of Kentuckiana, PanCan, and Hosparus Health.
