

Nannie "Jane" (Wright) McCauley, passed away on June 19th, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 88. She was born on April 16th, 1938, in Raywick, Kentucky, to the late Edgar Wright and Maggie (Beard) Wright. She lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness each day.
Jane was a Christian woman whose life reflected the values she held dear. She was a longtime member of Emmaus Road Church in Clarksville, Indiana. She worked for many years and retired from the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, where she was respected for her steady work ethic and dependable nature. Those who knew her best will remember her as a woman of quiet strength, kindness, and grace, someone who gave of herself freely and without hesitation.
She found great joy in caring for her home and tending meticulously to her flower garden. She also loved antiques and thrift shopping, always appreciating the charm and history found in treasured old pieces. Her cats held a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed their companionship throughout the years. These interests were a reflection of her thoughtful spirit and her appreciation for the little things that made life special.
Above all else, Jane was devoted to her family. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. She was generous and selfless, and she was known for giving to all. Her family was the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love was steady, unconditional, and deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John David McCauley Jr.; her daughter, Wanda Sue McCauley; her sister, Mabel Bischoff; her grandson, David James Dale Hanifen; her great-granddaughter, Alessandra Mills; and her son-in-law, Mike Ciufo.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Higgins (Steve), Sandra Ciufo, and Debbie Broyles (Richard); her grandsons, William Salmon and Lewis Higgins; her granddaughters, Stephanie McKeone (Tony), Christy Brannon (Jeff), Toni Mills (Roy), and Amy Szymansky (Jeff); her great-grandchildren, Addison McKeone, Jefferson Brannon, Ayden Mills, Ryan Szymansky, and Audrey Szymansky; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jane’s loving nature, generous heart, and selfless spirit touched the lives of many. Her family and friends will remember her with deep affection and gratitude for the example she set through her kindness and devotion. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady & Son-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40206, on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Committal will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 279 Landis Lane, Mount Washington, Kentucky 40047, on Friday, June 26th, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
