

Neil came to Louisville in 1987 as President of Journal Broadcasting of Kentucky, Inc., a diversified communications company which included WHAS-TV, The Crusade for Children and Louisville Productions, Inc.
He previously held senior management positions at some of the nation’s premier television stations affiliated, including WABC-TV, New York, WLVI-TV, Boston, WXYZ-TV, Detroit, WXIA-TV, Atlanta and WRAL-TV, Raleigh, NC. Under his leadership, those stations consistently led their respective markets with the highest ratings and shares for local news and local programming.
Neil’s major successes were in TV programming and he was a pioneer in creating local children’s programs, informational specials and talk shows as well as unique news program formats. He received many industry awards for his work, including a New York Film Festival Award, the Broadcast Promotion Managers & Executives “Gold Medallion Award”, the prestigious CEBA Award and several “Emmy” and Iris” nominations.
After leaving WHAS-TV, Neil served as marketing and communications consultant to some of Kentucky's largest corporations, not-for-profits, government agencies, and their management teams, including the KY Cabinet for Economic Development, Jefferson County Public Schools, BlueCross and BlueShield of KY, Rally's Hamburgers, Inc., The 2001 Billy Graham Crusade and Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp.
Neil is survived by his best friend and wife of 41 years, Anita, and six children: Brad (Brenda), Randy (Gina), Stacey Elliot (Wayne), Scott (Donna), Greg and Todd (Natasha) Kuvin; 9 Grandchildren: Katie, Lindsey, Alex, Ryan, Jonah, Zachary, Kayla and Leah Kuvin, and Brett Squires; brother Larry (Kristina) Kuvin.
The family extends thanks to Drs. Z. Malik and M.H. Davis and the staff of Norton Cancer Institute for their remarkable care.
Neil’s funeral service will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Rd. on Thursday, Oct. 10th at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Duncan Memorial’s Floydsburg Cemetery, Crestwood. Visitation is scheduled for 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 9th at Christ Church.
