Nelda was a member of Southeast Christian Church, Key to the City, Women of the University, and A.B.W.A.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Whitworth.
Nelda is survived by her daughter, Susan Shortt (Gary); granddaughter, Heidi Cantrell (John); great-grandsons, John Cantrell, Jr., Jackson Cantrell, and Cooper Cantrell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral service will be noon on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Friday and from 10am-12pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
