Nellie M. Simpson, 90, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Care of Louisville on February 27, 2016. She was the former Nellie Biancardi and a native of East Chicago, Indiana. She was a homemaker with two purposes in life... the love of her Catholic faith, having been a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, and looking after her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Della Biancardi, several siblings and her husband, Earl Simpson.
Left cherishing her memory are her sons, Mike (Sue Ellen) and James Simpson; grandchildren, Matt Simpson, Jennifer (Chris) Barker and Staci Simpson; great-grandsons, Jansen, Kaden and Lincoln Barker and Ben, Alex and Luke Cravens; brother Phillip (Doretha) Biancardi and brother-in-law, Robert Lauer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
